Search engine optimization software can be very helpful. The best analyze web sites that do well in certain in certain search engines and analyze the characteristics of those web sites in an attempt figure how the algorithm assigning ranking to web sites works. They then attempt to analyze your web page for a given keyword and make suggestions regarding how you might better design your web site for that search engine. Many SEO software programs also provide other valuable benefits that include various useful reports and help with submitting your web site or particular pages in the correct manner.

We use WebPosition 3 Platinum regularly. WebPosition 3 is recognized as the best search engine optimization software available. I first design my page using all of the recommended techniques and tricks I have learned. I then let WebPosition "give me its opinion. I then decide if the suggestions are something I want to implement.

For as good as the software packages are there is no substitute for education in search engine optimization. Review the Internet Search Engine Primer provided available on the NJN Consulting Search Engine Optimization main page. Read the Recommended References for Search Engine Optimization.
